All About Chickens

Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom is pleased to provide third-grade classrooms with All About Chickens. All About Chickens is an exclusive resource for Nebraska third-grade classrooms to enhance their science life cycle unit, specifically the egg hatching unit!

All About Chickens can enhance classroom learning as a large class discussion piece, an activity for small groups or individuals, or an at-home enrichment resource. All About Chickens has a corresponding Teacher’s Guide that contains classroom integration ideas, Nebraska content area standards connections, and a glossary.

Why Use All About Chickens? Agriculture connects people. Farms and ranches are everywhere in our nation. Agricultural businesses are in towns, cities, and communities in every part of Nebraska. In Nebraska, agriculture creates one in four jobs, which fuels the economy. Without agriculture, we wouldn’t be able to feed, clothe, and fuel the world. The bottom line: agriculture is an important industry for all of us!
