Welcome Lincoln Public School Teachers,
Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) has partnered with Lincoln Public Schools to provide exclusive resources for science lessons. This webpage gives you access to sign up to participate in an AITC staff-led experience or gain access to a pre-recorded lesson video.
If you are interested in having an AITC staff member visit your classroom to lead a lesson, please view the Classroom Visit information.

Classroom Visits
If you are interested in having an AITC staff member visit your classroom to lead a lesson, please sign up. Classroom Visits are limited and will be scheduled on a first-come first-serve basis. If the education specialist’s schedule is full, you will still be able to use the pre-recorded option.
3rd Grade: Chicken Little to Chicken Big
This Lesson Aligns to Nebraska State Standard: SC.3.9.3.B Analyze and interpret data to provide evidence that plants and animals have traits inherited from parents and that variation of these traits exists in a group of similar organisms.
Lesson Description: This eggcellent activity allows students to identify different breeds of chickens, examine physical traits, and determine how farmers select certain breeds based on inherited traits. This lesson is accompanied with chicken trait cards delivered to your classroom to summarize student learning! The education specialist will provide supplies for this activity.

- Step 4: Lead classroom activity.

- Once the form is submitted, you can print the cards on your own or you can request a set of five Chicken Trait Cards to be used in groups with students.
