Each virtual field trip includes a follow-along student worksheet, a lesson plan with discussion questions and extension activities, and alignment to 5th Grade Nebraska Content Area Standards.

These resources make it easy to integrate agricultural literacy into science and social studies while helping students connect classroom concepts to real-world applications.

Location: Virtual Visit on Farmer Jason’s pig farm near Laurel, Nebraska
Cost: FREE

Hang out with us as we get up close with pigs! Join us to learn about how farmers provide a balanced diet for growing pigs in each stage of their lives. This virtual field trip will take place from inside a pig barn and feature a farmer who will share his experience raising pigs! Students will be able to ask questions and receive answers in real time with a Question-and-Answer session.

The Virtual Field Trip will last approximately 30 minutes and is limited to 10 classrooms.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 14
Time: 1:00 p.m. (CT)
Grade: 3rd
Location: Virtual Visit on Farmer Jason’s pig farm near Laurel, Nebraska
Cost: FREE

Join us to learn how farmers create safe shelter for pigs in Nebraska to live and grow in a safe environment. This virtual field trip will take place from inside a pig barn and feature a farmer who will share his experience raising pigs! Students will be able to ask questions and receive answers in real time with a Question-and-Answer session.

The Virtual Field Trip will last approximately 30 minutes and is limited to 10 classrooms.

Virtual field trips allow for an on-demand experience with farmers and ranchers to open their barn doors to show students what happens on their farms and ranches. Teachers can select from various topics and students can use a follow along worksheet! These field trips were previously filmed live in 2015-2023. The following are recordings of each trip.
