Grow Nebraska Together: Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation Launches Campaign to Grow Agriculture Awareness

LINCOLN, NEB. – It’s time to join the movement and grow agriculture awareness in Nebraska. With National Agriculture Week right around the corner, the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation is launching a campaign to heighten awareness about agriculture in the state of Nebraska.

“Strong communities are always evolving, and there is a constant across them all: strong communities happen when people come together. National Agriculture Week is a time for all Nebraskans to come together to recognize how they interact with agriculture daily,” said Courtney Shreve, director of outreach education, “Think about everything you have done today. The food you eat, the clothes you wear, and the fuel that transports you can all be a part of your life because of agriculture.”

In celebration of National Agriculture Week, March 19-25, 2023, volunteers throughout the state will wear a limited-edition Agriculture Week t-shirt and share on social media how they see agriculture helping communities in Nebraska grow and thrive. Anyone can participate by purchasing the one-of-a-kind Agriculture Week t-shirt at the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation online store between February 20-24, 2023 (https://nefbfoundation.org/agweekshirt). This is a limited-time opportunity with orders shipping just in time for National Agriculture Week!

“The goal of this campaign is to start a conversation on social media about agriculture and how every single person in Nebraska must work together to grow agriculture and in turn create strong, thriving communities. Whether you’re on the farm, in the classroom, or in an office, you can be a part of the conversation. By engaging with your online communities, you can create an understanding of the vital importance of agriculture to not just Nebraskans but the entire world,” said Shreve.

As part of the campaign, people are encouraged to wear the unique t-shirt during Agriculture Week, March 19-25, 2023, and post a photo to social media, sharing how their connection to agriculture grows Nebraska. Using the hashtags #GrowNebraskaTogether and #TalkAboutAg will enter participants to win prizes.

“While many people have very positive feelings about agriculture and recognize its essential role in Nebraska, there are still many that do not know where their food, fiber, and fuel come from and how growing agriculture leads to growing Nebraska. This movement strives to bring all Nebraskans together,” said Shreve.

The mission of the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation is to engage youth, educators, and the general public to promote an understanding of the vital importance of agriculture in the lives of all Nebraskans. The Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. For more information about the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation, visit www.nefbfoundation.org
