Although Kearney had a Chorus Chapter in the ‘50s, the 1733 Chorus has been continuously active since 1971. They sing an annual spring show and sing for many church services and care homes each summer. They also sing annually for the Memorial Day service at the Kearney Cemetery and provide Singing Valentines each February. They sing the National Anthem at various sporting events each year and sing for several banquets and other celebrations. They sang for the Nebraska Music Educators Association and have provided concerts at several Nebraska locations including county fairs. They have sung on and sponsored an a cappella day at the state fair in Grand Island called Nebraskappella! Day for the past five years with around 20-30 various a cappella groups performing each year. They will be sharing their Christmas arrangements in the UNK Fine Arts Recital Hall for their Annual Benefit Concert. Their next Annual Shows (Matinee & Evening) will be at the Merryman Performing Arts Theater on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 with the headline quartet from Kansas City, Harmonium.
